Vaccination Point

The vaccination point located at Terminal 1 of El Dorado International Airport is operated by the Integrated Health Services Subnetwork of the Southwest. Please have the following information to access the following vaccines for free:

  • Yellow Fever: 10 to 12 days before traveling.
  • Influenza: People over 60 years old, children under 2 years old, or people with chronic illnesses.
  • Measles or Rubella: Children from 2 to 11 years old.
  • Tetanus: Women of reproductive age between 10 and 49 years.
  • DPTA and Tetanus: Pregnant women after the 14th week of gestation.
  • HPV: Girls between 9 and 17 years old to prevent cervical cancer.
  • Pneumococcus: People over 60 years old.

Contraindications

If your destination requires you to have the Yellow Fever vaccine, remember to get vaccinated 10 to 12 days before your trip. Be sure to inform the vaccination point if you have any of the following contraindications before receiving this vaccine:

  • Immunosuppressive diseases such as cancer, leukemia, HIV, immune diseases, among others.
  • Use of immunosuppressive medications such as those used in chemotherapy or prolonged corticosteroid treatments.
  • Blood clotting disorders (e.g., thrombocytopenic purpura or hemophilia).
  • Acute febrile illness that has compromised your overall health in recent days.
  • History of hypersensitivity (severe reactions, shock, or anaphylaxis-difficulty breathing) after consuming chicken, eggs, or their derivatives, or allergies to azithromycin or kanamycin.
  • You have received any live attenuated vaccines in the past 30 days: varicella, MMR, measles, or rubella.
  • You have recently received products such as immunoglobulins, plasma, blood transfusions, or organ transplants in the past 3 months.
  • You are pregnant or think you may be.
  • You are breastfeeding.
  • Diseases related to the thymus or spleen, including thymectomy and splenectomy.
  • You are over 60 years old.
