PET MANUAL DOMESTIC TRAVEL INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL ARRIVALS/DEPARTURES PET BATHROOMS

If you are traveling with your pet, be sure to learn the regulations and coordinate with your airline in advance. Keep your pet safe by always using the elevator instead of the escalator. Make sure your pet is healthy and fit to fly.

Before traveling:

Book your pet’s flight directly with the airline. If your pet cannot travel in the cabin, it may have to travel as cargo. Check the airline's policies for long flights.
Contact the embassy or consulate of your destination country to find out travel regulations.
Obtain all necessary documentation, such as health certificates.

Domestic Travel

For the transportation within the national territory of dogs and cats, no ICA health certification is required. However, it is necessary to contact your airline to directly find out the requirements you must consider when traveling with your pet.

International Travel Arrivals

If you need to enter Colombian territory with dogs or cats as accompanied baggage or those shipped as cargo, you can register them before your arrival in the country at the following link. This will allow you to submit your inspection request to the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) upon your arrival in the country and later receive a Sanitary Inspection Certificate (CIS).

International Travel Departures

If you need to leave Colombian territory, you must go to the ICA office located at El Dorado International Airport with your pet for the respective documentary and physical inspection of the animal.
