El Dorado transforms to raise awareness about breast cancer
- El Dorado joins the voices that raise awareness about breast cancer, promoting initiatives for prevention and early detection among travelers, neighboring communities, and the airport community.
Bogotá D.C., October 2022 - El Dorado announces that during the month of October, just like last year, it will change its name to El Rosado. This initiative, in partnership with the AMESE Association, aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of self-examination. This year, under the concept "Don't turn your back on breast cancer," the goal is to encourage regular medical check-ups, promote self-care, and provide assistance and advice to those in need.
According to the Pan American Health Organization, breast cancer is one of the most common causes of death among women in the Americas. The World Health Organization (WHO) also suggests that between 30% and 50% of cancer deaths could be prevented by modifying or avoiding risk factors and implementing prevention strategies.
El Dorado, in collaboration with the AMESE Association, will provide educational talks about breast cancer for visitors and visual resources installed in various areas of the terminal with information on self-examination. This will be complemented by health brigades held in neighboring communities of the airport, featuring breast cancer survivors who will provide information and address any concerns within the community.
In this way, El Dorado continues to work towards raising awareness about this silent risk that affects the lives of thousands of women and men, reaffirming its commitment to highlighting the need for prevention and safeguarding health.
