El Dorado Issues Travel Recommendations for the Easter Holiday Season

  • With the start of the Easter holiday season, El Dorado calls on travelers to follow recommendations and enjoy a memorable travel experience.
  • Passengers traveling with pets should carefully review and strictly comply with each airline’s regulations.
  • For international travel, passengers over the age of 12 are encouraged to register with Biomig to expedite migration processes.

Bogotá, March 25, 2026. With the arrival of the Easter holiday season—one of the peak travel periods with the highest flow of domestic and international passengers in Colombia—El Dorado shares a series of recommendations to ensure a smooth, efficient, and safe travel experience in the coming weeks, particularly for those traveling with minors, older adults, and pets.

To facilitate passenger flow, El Dorado recommends arriving at the airport three hours prior to international flights and two hours before domestic flights. Travelers are reminded that at Terminal 1, international departures operate from Concourses A and B, while domestic departures operate from Concourses C and D. At Terminal 2, also known as the former Puente Aéreo, domestic flights operate from Concourses H and G.

Additionally, to streamline migration procedures, Colombian travelers on international flights may pre-register with Biomig, available at Counter 68 on the second floor of Terminal 1, where they must present their passport to the migration officer. Foreign visitors may complete the process using only their passport. It is important to note that this service is available for passengers over the age of 12 entering the country.

El Dorado also provides access to “Dora,” its virtual assistant available via WhatsApp (+57 322 8220300), which offers real-time flight information and guidance within the terminals. Passengers are also encouraged to use the self check-in and self bag drop machines, which help expedite the check-in and baggage drop processes.

For passengers traveling with pets, El Dorado offers designated pet rest areas in both terminals. It is important to note that for domestic travel within Colombia with dogs and cats, a sanitary certificate issued by the ICA is not required. However, for international travel, passengers must present the required documentation and ensure the animal undergoes a physical inspection at the ICA office. Travelers are therefore advised to contact their airline directly to confirm all applicable requirements prior to travel. In addition, to enhance the travel experience, ensure passenger well-being, and strengthen safety at the airport, El Dorado encourages travelers to adopt preventive measures: avoid giving money or personal information to strangers, use luggage wrapping services only at authorized points with properly identified personnel, and report any suspicious behavior that may disrupt the safety and comfort of the airport community.

Finally, in order to meet increased demand, El Dorado has strengthened its operational processes in coordination with all partner entities. Its team remains fully trained to continue delivering the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer service, ensuring that every journey through the airport—and through Bogotá and Colombia—is a memorable experience, allowing passengers to reach their destinations safely and on time.
