Biomig: The Tool that Speeds Up Entry and Exit Processes in Colombia

• With this tool, El Dorado and Migración Colombia improve the experience of travelers by streamlining the processes for those entering and exiting the country. This enrollment is available for individuals aged 12 and older. In the case of minors, they must be accompanied by their parents or a legal representative.

Bogotá, November 28, 2024. Biomig is the tool that speeds up the entry and exit of people from the country, managed by Migración Colombia, which significantly reduces wait times while enhancing the experience of travelers passing through the airport terminal.

The service works through the collection and storage of biometric data obtained from the iris scan of citizens. With this information, authorities can verify that the enrolled individual is the same person entering or leaving the national territory.

It is important to note that this registration is completely voluntary, free of charge, and takes less than 30 seconds when departing the country. For minors, they must be accompanied by one of their parents or a legal representative, who must authorize the collection, storage, and authentication of the minor's sensitive biometric data. The user's information is used exclusively for the authentication process in the migration lanes.

Currently, El Dorado has two enrollment points: at counter #68 on the second level in the public area, and in the immigration area before entering the migration zone.

Steps for Enrollment:

• Go to the enrollment counter #68.
• Present your valid passport to the migration officer.
• Register your iris in the biometric camera.

Once Registered, Follow These Steps:

• Have your passport and flight number ready.
• Choose the option: Colombian or foreigner.
• Place your passport on the reader for validation.
• Confirm your flight details.
• If you are Colombian, look at the camera for iris recognition. If you are a foreigner, look at the facial recognition camera.

Biomig is part of the ongoing efforts of El Dorado Airport and Migración Colombia to improve the passenger experience by implementing technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency and security. With enrollment in the system, passengers can enjoy a line-free, fast, and secure process as they pass through the airport.
