Avianca launches a promotional code in collaboration with Migración Colombia and Opain, targeting international travelers who register with Biomig.
- Between September 21 and November 30, travelers can register at counter 68 at Bogotá Airport or at international departures at Medellín Airport. They can scan the available QR code and access the promotional code to receive a USD$25 discount or 5,000 LifeMiles, redeemable for international Avianca flights.
- Registering with Biomig takes only 24 seconds and ensures that passengers complete their migration process (entry or exit from the country) in less than 1 minute, using the self-service machines exclusively available for this purpose.
- With this incentive, the entities aim to ensure that El Dorado Airport, a crucial part of Colombia's air connectivity, operates smoothly during the peak holiday season when the flow of travelers substantially increases at the airport terminal.
To facilitate the transit of international passengers and expedite the migration control, especially during the year-end holiday season when the flow of travelers is expected to increase significantly, Avianca, Migración Colombia, and OPAIN have launched a promotional code equivalent to USD$25 or 5,000 LifeMiles. This code is available to travelers who register for the first time with Biomig, a service that enables entry and exit from the country in less than 1 minute through self-service machines designed for this purpose.
"Fernando García, Director General of Migración Colombia, emphasized, "At Migración Colombia, we combine technology and security to provide a better travel experience for citizens. This free tool allows adult Colombians to enter and exit the country in seconds, facilitating a smoother migration process. Promoting the use of Biomig is part of our strategy to strengthen our presence in the country's major airports, aiming to offer faster migration processes to alleviate airport congestion and prepare for the growth in tourism, in line with our Development Plan."
"As part of our commitment to providing a memorable experience to our passengers, we are focused on strengthening our strategy by delivering better services and implementing new and improved technologies to offer easy, efficient, and traveler-friendly transit to the millions of visitors to El Dorado. Initiatives like the one being presented today demonstrate that collaborative efforts between airport community stakeholders and authorities are fundamental and complement the technological and innovative improvements that the concessionaire has implemented in recent years, making this airport a regional benchmark. Our invitation to all is to continue adding and providing solutions that prioritize the user and offer a better experience. We are already preparing to accommodate the growing demand of passengers passing through El Dorado during the upcoming holiday season. Some measures include an increase in personnel for customer service, surveillance, and cleaning, the expansion of seating areas, the completion of the immigration area expansion, the installation of ten additional Biomig machines in the immigration area, and the allocation of fixed enrollment points," stated Natali Leal, General Manager of Opain.
How to register with Biomig and receive the promotional code:
1. Visit one of these two airports: El Dorado (Bogotá), enter through gate 5, second floor (counter 68), or José María Córdova (Medellín), external module located before "international departures."
2. Once there, complete the registration or enrollment process with Biomig, which takes only seconds.
3. Scan the QR code displayed during enrollment.
4. Fill out the form generated by the QR code.
5. The traveler will receive a notification about the validations being carried out to receive the benefit - within 5 business days if the traveler chose to receive a promotional code or an additional 7 business days if the traveler chose the miles option. These miles will be reflected in their LifeMiles account.
Felipe Andrés Gomez, Director of Institutional Relations and Sustainability at Avianca, stated, "At Avianca, we are making a historic commitment to El Dorado Airport, convinced of its potential to become the hub of connections in Latin America. That's why, with the support of Migración Colombia and OPAIN, we are focusing on a strategy that benefits travelers in two ways: by helping them expedite their transit through Biomig registration, especially during the busy year-end season, and by providing an incentive in the form of a discount for a future international trip."
Felipe Andrés Gómez added, "At Avianca, we want to be part of the solution to ensure that passengers receive efficient, consistent, and high-quality service during the season. Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to reducing congestion at immigration queues and improving airport processes, ensuring that our customers have a satisfactory experience from ticket purchase to reaching their destination."
