Odinsa, Opain and Grupo Argos Foundation award scholarship for higher education in the municipality of Funza, Cundinamarca

• The scholarship was awarded within the framework of the Scholarships for Regional Development program of the Grupo Argos and Odinsa Foundation, which this year reaches its ninth cohort with the award of 27 new scholarships to young people in the area of influence of the companies of the Business Group.
• Opain, concession of the El Dorado Airport in Bogota, invited educational institutions in its area of influence in Funza, a municipality of Cundinamarca, to participate in the call.
• This initiative is focused on young people between strata 1 and 2 in the areas where Grupo Argos, Odinsa, Cementos Argos and Celsia are present. Upon completion of their studies, fellows acquire the commitment to lead community and volunteer processes that promote the development of their territories.

Bogotá, March 13, 2023. As part of the commitment to contribute to the development of the communities in their area of influence, Odinsa and Opain, concessionaire of El Dorado Airport, delivered, for the second consecutive year in this concession, the Scholarship for the Development of the Grupo Argos Foundation to the young Marlen Yulieth Bertrán Méndez of the municipality of Funza, Cundinamarca, who during the process stood out for his leadership and academic career and who will fulfill his dream of starting his undergraduate studies in Audiovisual Media. 

"I thank Odinsa, El Dorado Airport and the Grupo Argos Foundation for allowing me to fulfill my dreams of training in higher education. I am very grateful and I do not have the words to express the happiness that generates me to receive having been selected for this opportunity, "said Marlen Bertrán, beneficiary of the program.

Scholarships for Regional Development aims to contribute to the training of new professionals in Colombia by recognizing the efforts of young leaders in their communities. It is a complete program that includes tuition, subsistence and psychosocial accompaniment expenses and professional guidance through mentors (collaborators of the Argos Business Group) who support and facilitate its process.

With the delivery of these scholarships, in addition to providing the opportunity to access quality training, we seek to contribute to the construction of a more cultured, critical and participatory society, in which these young people can lead great transformations and put their knowledge and professional skills at the service of a new world. On this occasion, the call received 995 applications from high school graduates in Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Boyacá, Caldas, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, La Guajira, Meta, Risaralda, Santander, Sucre, Tolima and Valle del Cauca, from which 27 young people were selected. Opain participated in this selection and call inviting young people from various educational institutions in the towns of influence of the Airport in Engativá, Fontibón and Funza.

Through this type of program, El Dorado Airport and Opain, together with Odinsa and the Grupo Argos Foundation, continue to create relevant connections at the local level with their neighboring communities, with whom they have carried out different initiatives to contribute to their well-being and development.
