Implementation of national prevention measures for the management and control of the Covid-19

March 15, 2020

Bogota, March 15, 2020. Opain, authorized operator of the International Airport El Dorado, works and provides full support to the National Government, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the District Department of Health, the Aeronáutica Civil and Migration Colombia, in order to implement the protocols the authorities have established to mitigate this difficult situation, following the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

The evolution of the COVID-19 has led governments worldwide to update the regulations and protocols constantly, so we are always attentive to the dynamics of these changes to ensure full implementation, since our priority is the welfare of our users and members of the airport community.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the District Secretary of Health are responsible for providing and implementing appropriate health measures to address situations such as those generated by the coronavirus COVID-19 and formalize information and care protocols for the areas of public health (hospitals, health personnel, airport medical service).

El Dorado Airport, meanwhile, has an emergency plan that contains the Biological Hazard Protocol, in order to mitigate the entry of Public Health Disease International Importance (PHEIC). This protocol was structured by the Ministry of Social Protection, the District Department of Health, the Civil Aeronautics and Opain and was intended to respond to biohazard related emergencies. Within the protocol there are procedures and roles for each of the actors.

Migration has established that, before entry into the national territory, all travelers must fill out a statement of health. In addition, travelers must answer a series of questions to understand your health situation.

Also, the District Department of Health has strengthened controls and deployed more personnel in order to perform temperature control of international travelers and the corresponding screening. In the event of alarms, Airport Health Authority is responsible for transferring positive cases or otherwise symptomatic passengers th the respective health institutions.

Since the beginning of this situation, El Dorado Airport has reinforced cleanup actions at the terminal in order to prevent the spread of the virus. We have a team of professionals working 24/7 to ensure clean and virus-free spaces and also replaced traditional disinfectants with broad spectrum alternatives. We have 54 bathrooms units, each consisting of one women's section, one men's section and a family bathroom, so that all users are able to wash their hands, as care and prevention are of utmost importance.

In addition, we provide different information channels at the airport, including the airport website, operating screens, commercial displays and social networks to disseminate the recommendations given by authorities. We have also provided information banners placed throughout the facility.

As for the information published by the Inspector General, all authorities and entities currenly working at/with the airport, are constanlty reviewing findings and addressing them from each entity.

We are focused on the welfare of all our passengers, users and partners and continue to provide unconditional support to the National Government and all authorities to adequately deal with this difficult situation and implement new measures for the benefit of all.
