El Dorado opens a new career portal for the neighboring communities of the airport: Engativa, Fontibón and Funza

• This is the first career portal for the aeronautical industry in Colombia: pistadeoportunidades.opain.co
• There, neighbors of El Dorado will find a pool of job opportunities from airlines, businesses, suppliers and other companies in the airport community.  
• The initiative is also focused on encouraging efficient use of transportation, positively impacting mobility in the city, and reducing the carbon footprint by reducing commuting distances to the workplace.

Bogota DC, April 20, 2022. Today, El Dorado International Airport, together with the airlines, businesses, suppliers and companies that operate in the terminal, has launched the first career portal for the airport community: https://pistadeoportunidades.opain.co/ 

This initiative aims to facilitate the job search process for the communities surrounding the air terminal, and at the same time to offer custom-tailored and convenient solutions to successfully fill openings in the companies that belong to the airport community, thus strengthening relationships with the communities neighboring the airport's area of operation.  

“The Pista de Oportunidades (Runway to Oppotunities) portal demonstrates how at El Dorado we work to create meaningful connections with our neighbors and the environment surrounding our operations. We are proud to deliver this news today, because we know that it is the beginning of an initiative created to transform and empower the personal and professional development of El Dorado's neighboring communities”, says Andrés Ortega, Opain's General Manager.  

The initiative is also focused on encouraging the efficient use of transportation, positively impacting mobility in the city, and reducing the carbon footprint.

In addition to the 24 companies – cargo, airlines, suppliers and businesses – that have joined this initiative, Pista de Oportunidades has had the support of the local Mayors of Engativá and Fontibón, and the Municipal government of Funza. Evidence of the work carried out jointly with the local authorities for the benefit of the surrounding communities.

The portal has been live for 3 weeks, with an initial stage for companies to register and for residents of Fontibón, Engativá and Funza to upload their resumes, as of today we have the following figures:

• 24 companies from the airport community registered, posting openings.
• 80 job openings published.
• 500 uploaded resumes.
• 4 candidates are currently undergoing a selection process.
