El Dorado Airport receives Sanitary Accreditation granted by the ACI

El Dorado is the first airport in Colombia to receive the ACI Airport Health Accreditation granted by the Airports Council International.
ICAO has created a CART workgroup, consisting of key industry organizations, the WHO and a large group of States and regional organizations to work toward common policies including coordination, communication and appropriate sanitary measures for the aviation industry.
ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) is based on the recommendations of the ICAO Council and is aligned with the best practices of ACI, as well as the security protocol developed by EASA aviation.

Bogotá D.C., August 27. World Airports Council (ACI) Health Accreditation granted to El Dorado, the first in Colombia and the second in South America to receive this certification. The parameters under which it was applied to the CART program included cleaning and disinfection of common areas, signaling physical distancing, personal protection measures, communication and passenger facilities.

The airport in the country's capital received accreditation for the work done in recent months to promote the best practices in biosafety, to restore confidence in their target groups and implement prevention measures in accordance with the regulations.

This certification is aimed at increasing the comfort of travelers and users also promote recovery and sustainability of the airport industry. Likewise, it strengthens the joint work being done in the aviation sector providing optimal conditions biosafety passengers when traveling.

Andrés Ortega, director of the El Dorado International Airport's operator OPAIN, said: "For the El Dorado Airport, the health of travelers and employees comes first, so by obtaining this accreditation certificate, we can offer peace of mind to travellers passing through an air terminal, that has adjusted to the new way of traveling, where prevention protocols and all procedures are in line with the requirements of the national government the World Health Organization (WHO) and the recommendations of the Airports Council International (ACI) ".

This certification is important for the El Dorado International Airport, as the ACI acknowledged that all the measures implemented are in line with health standards adapted for aviation, and the air terminal is one the most hygienic, sterilized and protected facilities in the country, preventing the spread of the virus and preserving the life and health of its users and airport community.
